The last week we've had great weather, and Finn has helped me take advantage of it. The Palisades Park in Santa Monica, overlooking the bluffs and ocean, is an awesome place to walk a dog when the weather is nice. For Finnegan going to the park means a world of excitement. There are squirrels, birds, and loads of other walking dogs.
We're always looking for new places to travel with the puppy, to expose him to things and make sure he knows, but if we never find anywhere else, Santa Monica offers everything. There is the Palisades park, third street promenade (complete with dancing monkey), the Santa Monica pier, the beach, the bluffs and lots of other things that are only interesting to a dog so I don't know what they are. Like I said there are hundreds of dogs out there and they are welcome everywhere except on the beach (legally speaking but ya know...). Finn's coming along well, and if nothing else the trips to the bluffs means his ego gets stroked. His shiny fur and still a baby golden retriever looks caused a slew of compliments. All the excitement and attention meant Bear was too busy to let me take a picture, what I could get is posted.

Finns mom!
Hi Guys! Julia here ( finns mom).
Finn's dad is getting very busy with work, so I am going to help out with the blog posts- you know you've missed them!
Finnegan is still the best little puppy ever, and he makes us laugh every single day. We are so glad we got him, and I personally cannot wait to add another little pup to the family .... dont tell finn's dad i said that. I basically would do anything for this little guy, and i know all you dog owners out there can relate.
Because Finnegan is my first dog (and i've wanted a dog forever), it is of course my job to spoil him rotten. That little boy gets anything he wants, I just cannot say no to that face. He has around 40 toys, and that probably an underestimate. It's so fun to give him a new toy, he usually will play with it non stop for a day or two and then loose interest. That doesn't stop me from buying more! Check out Target for some adorable toys and pet accessories.
Because he spends 1/2 of his time outside and 1/2 inside, these toys are constantly scattered about our house and lawn. The other day i got pretty fed up with tripping over stuffed duckies, tennis balls , and rawhides. I went to ROSS and got a big wicker basket for all finns toys. Hopefully finn's dad is going to train him how to " clean up" his toys a
t the end of the day. We'll see if this helps!
Here are a few of finnegans favorite things:
Chasing kitties
begging for human food
sleeping
pooping
going to the beach
snuggling with mom ( hehe or so i like to think!)
meeting other pooches
Happy Valentine's day ! ( finnegan with a valentines rawhide I bought at Target)

Cute Pictures of a Golden Retriever
For those of you who watch this blog solely to see sickeningly cute pictures of a fluffy golden retriever, you're in luck. I'm testing out some new things and recently came across something I did not realize, all the pictures I upload to this blog are saved as an album in Picasa. You have to love Google integrating everything. Anyways I searched out how to embed the slideshow, and if I did everything right you should see it below.
Pretty soon I'll be changing the look of the site again and adding a new title banner. When I do I'll make sure there is a prominent link to the slideshow at all times. If you want to use one of the pictures please ask as you will need written permission from Sir Finn to use his likeness.

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!
Having lived in New Orleans for the past four years it is very weird not to be properly celebrating today. There are no massive parades in Los Angeles (although there was a dog parade over the weekend at the Grove), the city is not shut down, and everyone still goes to work. Luckily for me my employer takes the day off so there is no pressure for me to work too hard.
The afternoon was pleasant so I went for a walk to make sure I cast my vote and when I returned I noticed a package on the stoop. My King Cake had arrived.
Despite having branded boxes (with beads and a Happy Mardi Gras wish) , FedEx managed to damaged the cake slightly. Still, the ingredients are still there so I'm sure it will be delicious.
On a side note, I realize I haven't posted in a while. I've traveled a bit and just got lazy about posting, my bad, I will try to make sure I put up more pictures and such.
Happy Mardi Gras!
